The swimming pool design and construction will be undertaken by local professionals who are directly employed by us. You will also have direct contact with our managing director who oversees every step of the project and is available to contact at any time.

On site you'll be able to liaise with the construction leader and the supervising engineer. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and are fully trained in all areas of swimming pool design and construction.

West Country Leisure Pools Ltd use the latest in design tools and technology to create beautiful, safe and efficient facilities that will last our clients for years to come. Our in-house designer provides custom plans for every project, minimising the cost of excavation and materials by providing calculations for all structural elements of the job that will be carried out by our professional engineers to Eurocodes. We have a responsibility to adhere to the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2007, providing risk assessments that eliminating hazards and provide a facility that is safe to construct and maintain.

We have a traditionally trained draughtsman with over 20 years of experience, that implements the use of CAD for the creation of all our drawings and designs to BS 8888 & BS ISO 128 for general arrangements and details.

We were an early adopter of 3D CAD and currently use a number of different software packages to produce as many designs in 3D as possible. This is beneficial at the outline design stage for both our customers and our design team, providing multiple views of the project that can be easily modified as the design develops.

The recent adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) at West Country Leisure Pools Ltd will help us to minimise the disruption of design changes during the natural process for stakeholders of a project team. BIM has the objective of reducing capital cost and carbon burden by 20% from the construction and operation of the built environment. It has the advantage of creating a 3D model that can be utilised by the different disciplines of the design team at key stages of the project using Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) data drops. There is also the possibility of using 4D programme data such as Microsoft Project, and 5D cost elements for Quantity Surveying. This is a technology that we are already utilising and welcome collaboration from architects and engineers that wish to use BIM for future projects.

One of the key benefits of using 3D and BIM is the ability to produce computer generated visualisations of project proposals that enable our clients to see the design intent and make key decisions on materials, textures and lighting. With the ability to create photorealistic images from various camera angles and short walk through videos, we have found that this is an extremely useful tool that clients and developers are keen to exploit at a very early stage of the design programme.
